Department Introduction

The Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) in Interior Design is a skill-based undergraduate program that focuses on designing functional, aesthetic, and comfortable indoor spaces. Unlike traditional degree courses, B.Voc emphasizes practical training, industry exposure, and hands-on learning along with theoretical knowledge. Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interiors of a space—such as homes, offices, hotels, and commercial buildings—to achieve a healthier and more visually appealing environment. This course trains students to plan layouts, select materials, choose color schemes, design furniture, and use lighting effectively. Throughout the program, students learn important concepts like space planning, drafting, 3D visualization, furniture design, and use of modern design software. They also gain knowledge about construction materials, building services, and sustainable design practices. The B.Voc Interior Design course prepares students for careers as interior designers, space planners, furniture designers, and design consultants. It also provides opportunities for internships and industry collaboration, making graduates job-ready.
